Bush Hog has announced a recall of their Off-Road Utility Vehicles, the TH4400 Trail Hand and the 4430 4X4 after reports of frozen throttle cables, which can cause the engine not to return to idle speed when a driver takes their foot off of the gas pedal. This could cause the driver to lose control of the Bush Hog utility vehicle.
About 850 Bush Hog utility vehicles are affected by this recall. If you own one of them, stop using it immediately and call Bush Hog toll-free at (877) 873-0143 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT Monday through Friday for more information.
Off-Road Utility Vehicle Description
Bush Hog is printed on the cargo bed tail gate and each side of the cargo bed. The hood color is in red, green or mossy oak. These recalled Bush Hog RUVs were sold at Bush Hog dealerships between April 2008 and December 2008.
Unlike Yamaha, Bush Hog is recalling their off-road utility vehicle before any injuries have been reported.
I purchased a Trail Hunter from Pigg Equipment Sullivan, In in2008. It has 50 hours on it and has been a real pain.
Last winter The throttle stuck on me and the machine ran off. I finally got stopped by shutting of the ignition. After fixing the trottle cable the choke cable did the same thing. It is in the shop now because the battery will not charge. It some times just dies for no reason.
The transaxle was replaced at less than 30 hours.
I am retired and this machine has never been use in a rough way it just seems to be a poor product.
