Riders of the Kawasaki KFX-450 2008 model four-wheelers should stop using these ATVs immediately and contact their authorized Kawasaki dealership to arrange for repairs on this potentially dangerous recalled ATV part.
Name of Product: Kawasaki KFX450R All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV)
Units Recalled: About 6,000 ATVs
Made by Kawasaki Motors
Reason For this ATV Recall: The flange, which holds the fuel pump in the fuel tank, can fail to stay connected to the tank itself. This can create a fuel leak, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.
Kawasaki has already received 60 reports of fuel leaks, though no injuries have been reported.
The recalled ATVs are the 2008 model year Kawasaki KFX450R. These fourwheelers are available in white, green, or black, and have “Kawasaki” and “KFX450R” on the front bodywork below the handlebars.
These ATVs were Manufactured in the United States and sold by Kawasaki motorcycle and ATV dealers nationwide between March 2007 and June 2007 for about $7,400.
Consumers should immediately stop using the ATV and contact their authorized Kawasaki dealer to arrange for installation of free replacement fuel tank. For more information, call Kawasaki at (866) 802-9381 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or visit www.kawasaki.com.
is it just that one or is it all of the sport four wheelers
08 450 kfx batt. keeps dieing how do fix it?im not the only 1 asking this.
my fkx 450r is stock and it keeps cutting out idk y and my oil light was on so i changed it and it stays on how do i fix these problems?
I have already had my recall repaired but for some reason my fuel pump will not turn over when i turn my key on. the fuel pump, relay and grounds are all good but still cannot figure out why it is getting no power. Any ideas?
the batteries themselves are junk, i worked at a powersports shop and we had this problem a lot. Best thing to do is get a battery tender and you’ll be fine.
dude i have a kx 450 and nothing has ever happened to it.
i had one of these 2008 kfx400 i ran it for a while and come to find out the gas leak was gettting in to my engine , called the shop for a repair took it in and told them i had the extended warranty ( this is bs they only sell it to you but dont honor it ) they examined my bike and told me the warranty was not being honored , well i ask them why did the sales man tell me you should buy the extended warranty if anything happends to the motor it will be covered , yeah ive heard that before so i told them that i did not want the bike they can shove it .
I have a 2008 kfx450. The battery will not stay charged, replaced the battery once, and still had the same problem. I took it to the shop to have the charging system checked while it was under the extended warranty, but was charged $100.00 and told that the warranty would not cover the work. I am still having the same problem and would like any information in regards to this. As of now, my kfx 450 is a piece of junk with this problem.
i own three kfx 450s two 08s one 09 all bought the same time one for me and two for my boys. we only ride one day a week two of them have been in the shop for months now we havnt got to ride at all this summer. i have the battery problem. the dealer cant find the prob. all three have cracked the head pipes what a hard time to get kawi to replace. then one water pump went. then two of them blew the crank. the valves went. the first year we had them one of them had engine problems the dealer had the quad for over three months in the summer. we have warrantys but the dealer always says we have to pay hundreds towards the bill. these quads are CRAP. i would never buy from kawi. again there service is also crap. they still have two of them in the shop for over a month
got two of my 450s back on july 29 they had to go back in the shop after one ride.
i have a 08 kawi monster energy edition i ride it on the trails and sometimes swap it over for the drag strip and then it sits bout two and half inches off the ground and runs close to 8.00 so i pretty much dog it pretty hard but i have not had any problems out of it..
i have a kfx450r and the battery problem want to know how to fix it
I have the battery problem on my 2010 kfx. My dealer said they could run a diag. On it since I still have my warranty. But they said if nothing is found then I’m paying for it out of my pocket. I think I’m just going to buy another battery (3rd one) and get a battery tender cuz from the looks of it I will be wasting my time trying to deal with Kawasaki. Their customer service sucks and is giving them a bad name. I probably will not buy another kawi again.
I bought my son a 09 kfx 450r . I had to have the frame relaced 2months after i bought it,i fought with the dealer they said it was abuse, after 2 weeks of not being able to ride they fixed it.Then the next month the fuel pump went out, another bunch of B S i still had to pay for shop supplies its not my problem its a piece of junk. Now after setting all winter, and weather is good the rear bearings are out the dealer said they would have to see if it was covered. But of course not,the rear end had no grease at all, but its abuse again, my question is how do you ride a wheeler and not abuse it ? He has only rode it maybe 4 months and we haven’t had it a year. We also have a charging problem . Battries are junk !!! But i guess thats abuse !!!!
