Polaris has recalled about 28,000 snowmobiles due to a fire hazard because the fuel tank filter neck may crack, allowing fuel to leak from the tank.
There have already been over a thousand reports of the filler neck cracking on snowmobiles from 2003 to 2007.
If you own a Polaris snowmobile you should call them at (888) 704-5290 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. So far we don’t see the press release on their website, but they may just be slow to update. In the meantime, click here for more information and photos.
Nice of them to recall the sleds and they don’t even have the gas tanks in stock to serve you. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks and they are still telling the part is back ordered. Thanks Polaris. Best snow we had in years and you can’t fix your own recalls. Nice!
This is absolutely ridiculous, a recall and no parts to fix the recall. I’ve missed two snowmobile trips already because of this problem and am still waiting to get the part fixed. I have always been a loyal customer with polaris, however this has changed my mind about ever buying another polaris. Artic Cat may be my new sled of choice. Thank you Polaris for screwing me out of great riding.
Polaris snowmobile recall on the gas tanks are a joke. I have one that broke at the neck on a 2003 4 stroke they say that there was no problem that year.See them in court as my boy was burn from the gas.Ive had other problems with this sled. They are makeing junk now buyers look out.
I bought a new polaris IQ 600 2007 model and it runs great . I switched over from ski-doo they got too compact with their sleds hope polaris don’t go their direction.
thank-you
I have a 2007 IQ 700 and the clutch keeps freezing up .The first time the dealer said its not covered becouse its from carotion and charged me $300. Now it did it again and the clutch got so hot it melted something and all bower was lost .Do’s anyone know of a recall for this problem ? Can email me at gludden@charter.net .I’v been a polaris person all my life but to spend 10k on a sled and have this constant problem and then be told there not willing to stand behind has me rethinking my loyalty .Thanks if you can help
Snowmobile only? I think not! I have a friend who owns a 04 sportsman 700-4 wheeler. Nice rig except for the last year he has been messing with the same problem, tank neck broke. He is trying to find a patch kit that will hold up. So far, no luck. Why is there no recall on the 4 wheeler. I have a feeling its the same gas tank or at least made at same place. I quit polaris 4 years ago because they would not help me with new machine problems.
good news an bad news.good news is polaris put all new pistons, rings, head an fuel management calabration in my 09 assault in the summer.I get 6 more months of warenty. Bad news is the front walker evans shocks on the front are junk ,rebuild this one ,flat after 48 miles, rebuild that one leaks an sags replace . new season here we go again .i better not loose any ridin time this winter or im gona be my dealers worst nightmear . i think for every month one of our polaris michines are down and on warenty our warenty should be extendid tha same length of time what good is a 1 year warenty if the machine is sittin behind the dealers shop for 7 months of it.PS i own lots of polaris sleds an weelers an A1 polaris in Soldotna AK sucks 19year olds for technitions cmin an goin all the time no good go to Homer saw.
Bought brand new 2007 Polarais 600 clean fire after 400 miles it cooked a piston. dealer replaced jug and piston. said failure was due to improper breaking in. Could not give any other reason. oil was mixed with gas as per Polaris guidelines and oil consumption was monitored and was normal .
I would appreciate any feed-back or ideas about failure.
