According the gadolinium attorney Beth Klein, time may be running out for many victims of Gadolinium toxicity suffering from Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) and other gadolinium side effects to join in a lawsuit over compensation for the injured.
The first layer of statutes of limitation for certain gadolinium cases runs on June 6, 2008. After this deadline, some cases may be time barred, and some individuals may forfeit their legal rights or dilute the value of their case unless the case is filed. The lawyers for the MDL are currently attempting to negotiate tolling agreements, a type of agreement that can extend the deadline to file claims in court. However, these negotiations are not final, and people who believe that they have NSF or NSF should contact counsel.
It is important that if you think that you may have been harmed by Magnevist (gadopentetate dimeglumine), Ominiscan (gadodiamide); OptiMARK (gadoversetamide); MultiHance; (gadobenate dimeglumine); or Prohance (gadoteridol), you are strongly encouraged to contact an attorney now to discuss the pending gadolinium lawsuit.
Gadolinium is a heavy metal and a contrast agent used in MRI scans to provide an improved image of body organs and tissues. In patients with poorly functioning kidneys, gadolinium may not be properly excreted from the body. This could cause serious side effects and illnesses like nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. i was given gadilinium based dye back in 2002 and reacted badly to it. My arms and lower legs first swelled up and red. It felt like I was burnung from inside out. After the burning went away i am left with scars on my on arms and legs. Moreover, my left arm’s cannot fully extend anylonger. My legs are worst than my arms. Where the scars are on my legs the skins are very thin, so I cannot be on my feet for long period. It is very painful, like it is going to rip open. The last time i was admitted into the hosptal, my chest xray came back with scarring on my lungs.
After my first complaint, I was sent to have tested done to find what was the cause, but ultimately the doctors told me they did not find anything. I remember they taking pictures because they have never seen anything like it. As long as i could remember, i was told that I had a bad allergic reaction to a contrast dye. From what the doctors told me I thought it was bad luck that I have this allergy. Never was told that it was caused by gadilinium, until recently, which was late 2008, when I was told by one of the doctor that gadilinium was the cause. After that I still did not understand what it really meant until I saw an advertisement on TV, that gadilinium was hurting other people. I finally understood that it was not an allergy that I was born with.
I contacted a lawyer, but it seems that my lawyer told me that it will be a difficult case because of the time. Please help me. Is it really going to be difficult? It was kept hush hush on what happened to me by my doctors. As soon as I was aware of what happened to me I seeked help right away. Please help me.
